Sunshine and Parks

Back when we were in Wilmington, we spent most of our spring and summer days playing on the beach.  Although we have a beach here in Vancouver, it's just not the same as our beloved North End of Wrightsville beach.  Believe it or not it's been a real struggle figuring out what to do with our free time on days when the weather is nice without our favorite beach spot.  I do however think we have found a solution to this difficult problem....parks!

There are about 200 parks in the city of Vancouver!  It's been really fun to take walks around the city and see parks and green space just pop up out of nowhere.  On Friday we went to Tatlow Park and met some friends.  While there we had a picnic dinner and played some Frisbee Tree Golf. Super fun!  On Sunday we went to Stanley Park to enjoy the sunshine! We walked along the Seawall, hiked on some trails and even watched a cricket match.  Here are some pics from our day:

  1. oh i love this post! i totally know what you mean about parks, especially in a big city. funny about the squirrels too. they look so weird, a lot like rats! i've hardly ever seen them here either, but when you do, my goodness the romanians lose it. they start yelling MARI MARI MARI (no idea what that means, it's just a name) and think it's the cutest thing they've ever seen. wish they could hang out at uncw a day or two. are there lots of them in vancouver?

anyway, great post and great pictures! thanks for updating!
